Counseling in Del City
Probation officers, caseworkers and community programs can refer Del City clients for sessions in Oklahoma City or by telehealth.
Chatman Counseling and Rehabilitation accepts referrals for Del City adolescents and adults who need sexual offense treatment, anger management or youth services. The practice works with families, courts, probation officers and community organizations in Oklahoma County that need a reliable resource for specialized treatment. Referred clients can be seen at the Oklahoma City office on South Western Avenue or, if they are located in Oklahoma, by telehealth. To start, call (405) 205-6314 or reach the office through the Contact page, sharing general information only.
Who to Refer
Clients You Can Send
A referral fits when the need matches one of these.
- Adolescents 13 to 17 with problematic sexual behavior, seen in individual sessions, the youth group or both
- Adolescents whose anger is causing trouble at home, at school or with the law
- Teens referred through the Office of Juvenile Affairs for problematic sexual behavior or anger management
- Adults with problematic sexual behavior, through individual sessions and the Adult Sexual Behavior Treatment Group for people 18 and older
- Adults whose anger affects relationships, work or legal standing, seen in individual sessions
What Falls Outside the Practice
Knowing the limits saves your client a call that goes nowhere.
- Children under 13
- Crisis or emergency care: a person in crisis should call or text 988, and anyone in immediate danger should call 911
- Medication or inpatient treatment
- General depression, trauma or couples therapy
- Evaluations requested by a court, beyond the treatment assessment itself
How a Referral Moves Forward
Reach the Office
Reach the office by phone at (405) 205-6314 or through the Contact page. Since email and voicemail are not secure, give only the client's name, contact information and a general reason.
Consultation
The client, or a parent for a teen, has a free 20 to 30 minute consultation to describe the situation in general terms and ask questions.
Assessment and Consent
The 1 to 2 hour assessment produces treatment recommendations and an individualized plan. The client signs consent if information is to be shared with you, and for youth, consent is explained at intake.
Plan and Progress
Individual sessions, group or both begin, with any program requirements factored in. Updates reach you only as the client's consent allows.
OJA (Office of Juvenile Affairs) approved in Oklahoma for problematic sexual behavior and anger management. Court-approved therapist for problematic sexual offense treatment.
What Your Office Can Expect
Communication runs through the client's signed consent. Without it, the practice does not share information with a court, probation officer, caseworker or program, and the limits the law sets on confidentiality are explained to the client in writing at the start.
Acceptance is your agency's call, or the court's. The approval statement on this page uses Mr. Omar's exact wording, and whether it meets your office's requirements is for your office to decide. The practice also does not promise outcomes or set completion dates, because length depends on needs, progress and program requirements.
Referral Questions
Can a Del City client attend without coming to Oklahoma City?
Yes, by telehealth, as long as the client is somewhere in Oklahoma for each session. If group work is likely, the client can ask during the consultation how group sessions are attended.
Is the practice Medicaid approved?
Yes. It also accepts Oklahoma Complete Health, part of Oklahoma's Medicaid program, along with Humana, Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS), Ambetter and HealthChoice, though what each plan covers varies.
What should a first email leave out?
Leave out details about the behavior or the case. Stick to the client's name, contact information and a general reason, and save specifics for a conversation with the office.
Which days can clients be seen?
Office appointments run Monday through Friday. Telehealth sessions are scheduled by appointment as well.
