Counseling in Midwest City

Midwest City adults facing a court or probation requirement can attend sessions in person in Oklahoma City or by telehealth.

If a judge, probation officer or program has told you to get sexual offense treatment or anger management, Chatman Counseling and Rehabilitation offers both to Midwest City adults in Oklahoma County. Mr. Omar is a licensed professional counselor and CSOTP. Before you schedule, confirm with your court or probation officer that they will accept this provider, because acceptance is their decision, not the practice's. After that, the first step is a free 20 to 30 minute consultation.

OJA (Office of Juvenile Affairs) approved in Oklahoma for problematic sexual behavior and anger management. Court-approved therapist for problematic sexual offense treatment.

The Order

Meeting a Requirement, Step by Step

  1. Confirm Acceptance First

Ask your court, probation officer or program whether they accept this practice for your requirement. Their answer is theirs to give, and it is worth having before anything else.

  2. Free Consultation

Spend 20 to 30 minutes describing your situation in general terms and asking how treatment would be structured, at no charge.

  3. Assessment

The 1 to 2 hour assessment looks at your history, behavioral concerns, mental health background and reasons for treatment, then covers goals, program expectations, session frequency and financial responsibilities.

  4. Decide on Consent

You decide whether to sign consent that allows the practice to share information with your court or officer.

  5. Attend and Do the Work

Show up consistently, take part and finish assigned work, while your plan is updated as progress is reviewed.

How Your Court or Officer Hears About Progress

Nothing about your treatment goes to a court, probation officer or caseworker unless you have signed consent for it. If your requirement calls for updates, signing that consent is what allows them to happen.

Confidentiality also has limits the law sets. Those are explained in writing at the start of services, so they do not catch you off guard later.

What Treatment Asks of You

Meeting a requirement takes more than showing up.

  • Consistent attendance, with any cancellation made at least 24 hours ahead
  • Honest participation in individual sessions and, if assigned, in group
  • Completing practical assignments between sessions
  • Following group guidelines if the Adult Sexual Behavior Treatment Group is part of your plan
  • Taking personal responsibility for the behavior that led to the requirement

Why There Is No End Date Up Front

The practice does not work from a fixed timeline. How long treatment lasts depends on your needs, your progress and any program requirements. Individual sessions are often scheduled twice a week, and group sessions run 45 to 60 minutes, but your schedule and the overall length are set at the assessment.

If your court or program has its own expectations about length, bring them to the assessment so they become part of the plan. From there, progress is reviewed over time and the plan changes when it should.

Questions About Requirements

Can court ordered treatment happen by telehealth?

Clients located anywhere in Oklahoma can use telehealth. Whether your court or probation officer accepts telehealth sessions for your requirement is their call, so ask them first.

What happens if I miss a session?

Let the office know at least 24 hours ahead if you need to cancel or reschedule. Sessions missed or canceled late may be charged the scheduled session rate, and that charge is not sent to insurance.

Is anger management done in the adult group?

No. Adults who come for anger management work one on one with Mr. Omar in individual sessions. The adult group is the Adult Sexual Behavior Treatment Group, for adults 18 and older.

Can the practice promise my court will be satisfied?

No. The practice can explain what treatment involves, but it cannot promise how a court, probation office or program will respond.
