Credentials

Credentials and Approvals

Mr. Omar holds the LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) and CSOTP credentials. He is OJA (Office of Juvenile Affairs) approved in Oklahoma for problematic sexual behavior and anger management, and he is a court-approved therapist for problematic sexual offense treatment.

These approvals describe what he is qualified to provide. They do not mean a particular court or agency will accept a given plan. That decision belongs to the court or agency.

Why I Started This Practice

I started Chatman Counseling and Rehabilitation because I wanted to make a difference in the lives of people who are often judged by their mistakes rather than given the opportunity to change. Over 13 years in practice, I have worked with adolescents and adults who struggle with anger, poor decision-making, and problematic sexual behavior. I believe people can change when they are willing to put in the work and have the right guidance and support.

My goal has always been to provide a place where clients can be held accountable without being judged, learn from their mistakes, and develop the skills they need to make better choices. I am not here to make excuses for anyone's behavior. I am here to help them understand it, take responsibility for it, and work toward becoming better individuals.

I Don't Sugarcoat, and I Don't Judge

My communication style is straightforward, honest, and easy to understand. I believe in speaking to people with respect while emphasizing personal responsibility and accountability. I don't sugarcoat difficult conversations, but I also don't judge people based on their past mistakes.

“The choices you make dictate the life you live.”

That line shapes how sessions run. Clients are treated with respect, and they are asked to look honestly at their choices, the effect on other people, and what they will choose next.

What Treatment Works Toward

  • Personal responsibility: naming what happened without minimizing it or shifting blame
  • Coping: handling stress, shame, and conflict without returning to old patterns
  • Emotional regulation: noticing anger and other strong feelings early enough to choose a response
  • Healthy boundaries: understanding and respecting limits with family, partners, and peers
  • Decision-making: slowing down and thinking through consequences before acting

Compassion and Accountability Belong Together

The approach here is professional, direct, compassionate, and accountable. Sessions hold respect for the person and clear attention to the behavior at the same time.

Adolescents and Adults

The primary clients are adolescents and adults. Youth and adult groups are separate, and the adult group is for people 18 and older. The assessment helps determine which services fit your needs.

Sessions are available in person at the Oklahoma City office, Monday through Friday by appointment, or by telehealth for clients located anywhere in Oklahoma.

Who I Work Best With

My ideal client is an adolescent or adult who is ready to take accountability for their actions, address problematic behavior, develop healthier coping skills, and make lasting positive changes.

The practice also works with families, courts, probation officers, and community organizations that need a reliable resource for specialized treatment.

What the Practice Does Not Promise

Treatment length depends on needs, progress, and any program requirements, so no fixed timeline is offered. No outcome is guaranteed, and court or agency decisions are made by those bodies.

Fees, Coverage, and Cancellations

The first consultation is free and lasts 20 to 30 minutes. An assessment is $200 for 1 to 2 hours. Individual sessions are $120 for 45 to 60 minutes, and youth group and adult group sessions are $50 for 45 to 60 minutes.

Humana, Oklahoma Complete Health (part of Oklahoma's Medicaid program), Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS), Ambetter, and HealthChoice. The practice is Medicaid approved, and Aetna is coming back soon.
