Telehealth Counseling in Tulsa
Tulsa County teens, adults and families can work with Mr. Omar by telehealth, even though the practice's only office is in Oklahoma City.
Chatman Counseling and Rehabilitation has no Tulsa location. Its one office is on South Western Avenue in Oklahoma City, and Tulsa clients are served by telehealth, which reaches anyone located in Oklahoma. Distance does not change who you work with: Mr. Omar, LPC and CSOTP, brings 13 years of counseling experience to telehealth sessions just as he does at the office. Start with a free 20 to 30 minute consultation and ask how each part of treatment would be handled for a client in Tulsa.

What Tulsa Clients Can Ask About
Four services are offered, each for a specific need.
- Sexual offense treatment for adolescents and adults, built on an assessment, individual sessions and group work
- Anger management for teens and adults whose anger is affecting relationships, work, school or legal standing
- Youth services for adolescents 13 to 17, with individual counseling and a youth group, including OJA referrals
- The Adult Sexual Behavior Treatment Group, for adults 18 and older, kept fully separate from the youth group
OJA (Office of Juvenile Affairs) approved in Oklahoma for problematic sexual behavior and anger management. Court-approved therapist for problematic sexual offense treatment.
Checking With Tulsa County First
If a court, probation officer, OJA caseworker or program in Tulsa County is part of the picture, ask them before you schedule whether they accept telehealth treatment with an Oklahoma City provider. That decision belongs to them. The approvals on this page are stated in Mr. Omar's exact words, and they do not settle acceptance for any particular court or agency.
Once you have an answer, the practice communicates with your referral source only through signed consent, and for a teen, how consent works is covered at intake. The limits the law sets on confidentiality are explained in writing at the start of services.
Keeping a Steady Schedule From Tulsa
Individual sessions are often scheduled twice a week at 45 to 60 minutes each, and group sessions run 45 to 60 minutes as well. The actual schedule is set at the assessment, based on needs, progress and any program requirements, so plan for a standing commitment rather than an occasional check-in.
Telehealth removes the trip, but it does not remove the commitment. If a session has to move, cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours ahead; a late cancellation or missed session may be charged the scheduled session rate, and that charge does not go to insurance.

Tulsa Families Ask
Is there an office in Tulsa?
No. The South Western Avenue office in Oklahoma City is the only one. Tulsa clients who would rather meet in person can schedule there by appointment, Monday through Friday.
Can my teen take part in the youth group from Tulsa?
Ask during the consultation how the youth group is attended by telehealth clients. Whether group belongs in your teen's plan is decided at the assessment.
Does insurance cover telehealth for Tulsa clients?
The accepted plans are Humana, Oklahoma Complete Health (part of Oklahoma's Medicaid program), Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS), Ambetter and HealthChoice, and the practice is Medicaid approved. Since benefits vary, ask the office to confirm telehealth coverage on your plan.
What if we leave Oklahoma for a while?
Telehealth sessions require being in Oklahoma at session time. Before any session you would attend from outside the state, call the office to ask what is possible.
