In Person

Coming to the Office on South Western Avenue

The practice has one office, in Oklahoma City on South Western Avenue, and no second location anywhere else in the city or the state. Visits there are scheduled by appointment.

Expect individual sessions of 45 to 60 minutes, often booked twice a week. Group sessions also last 45 to 60 minutes. Your actual schedule is set at the assessment, based on your needs, your progress and any program requirements, and it is revisited as your progress is reviewed.

Services for South Oklahoma City Clients

Four services make up the practice's work.

  • Sexual Offense Treatment: structured, accountable counseling for adolescents and adults with problematic sexual behavior, beginning with an assessment and continuing through individual sessions, group work or both.
  • Anger Management: help for adolescents and adults whose anger is affecting relationships, work, school or legal standing, focused on triggers, regulation and choices under pressure.
  • Youth Services: individual counseling and a youth group for adolescents 13 to 17 dealing with problematic sexual behavior or anger, including referrals from the Office of Juvenile Affairs.
  • Adult Group: the Adult Sexual Behavior Treatment Group for adults 18 and older, run in a structured, professional and nonjudgmental way.

Your First Visits, in Order

  1. Free Consultation

No charge, no commitment: 20 to 30 minutes to describe the situation in general terms and ask whatever you need to ask.

  2. Assessment

A 1 to 2 hour appointment that reviews personal history, behavioral concerns, mental health background and your reasons for seeking treatment, and includes intake paperwork.

  3. Individualized Plan

Mr. Omar recommends individual sessions, group, or both, and goes over treatment goals, program expectations, session frequency and financial responsibilities.

  4. Regular Sessions

You attend consistently, your progress is reviewed over time, and the plan shifts when your needs change.

When a Parent Calls About a Teen

A parent or guardian can make the first call for a teenager and use the free consultation to describe what is going on in general terms. Youth services are for adolescents 13 to 17. The youth group never includes adults, and the adult group is only for people 18 and older, so a teen and a parent are never placed in the same group.

How consent works for a minor is explained at intake, along with the limits the law sets on confidentiality. If a court, probation officer or OJA caseworker is involved with your teen, whether they accept this practice is their decision, so check with them early.

What to Bring to the Assessment

Having a few things on hand helps the 1 to 2 hour assessment go smoothly.

  • A photo ID
  • Your insurance card if you plan to use Humana, Oklahoma Complete Health, Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS), Ambetter or HealthChoice
  • Any referral paperwork from a court, probation officer, caseworker or program, if one is involved
  • A short list of questions about scheduling, groups or costs
  • Your calendar, since session frequency is settled during the assessment

Questions From South Oklahoma City

Is there more than one office in Oklahoma City?

No. The South Western Avenue office is the only one anywhere, and telehealth serves clients located elsewhere in Oklahoma or anyone who prefers not to come in.

Can I stop by the office without an appointment?

Visits to the office are by appointment, so call (405) 205-6314 to set up the first one.

What if I have to cancel an office visit?

Cancellations and reschedules need at least 24 hours of notice. A late cancellation or a missed visit may be charged at the scheduled session rate, which insurance is not billed for.

What if something urgent happens between sessions?

The office is not an emergency service. For a crisis, reach 988 by call or text, and for immediate danger, call 911.
