Sexual Offense Treatment for Adults

This treatment is for adults ready to look honestly at problematic sexual behavior, the choices behind it, and what needs to change.

Sexual offense treatment for adults at Chatman Counseling and Rehabilitation is structured, accountable counseling for people 18 and older with problematic sexual behavior. Depending on your assessment, your plan may include individual sessions, the Adult Sexual Behavior Treatment Group, or both. You may be here because a court or program requires it, or because you decided on your own that something has to change. Either way, the focus is the same: understand the behavior, own it and build the skills to choose differently.

Who It's For

Who Adult Treatment Is For

Adult treatment here is for people ready to take accountability for their actions, address problematic behavior, build healthier coping skills and make lasting positive changes. You do not need to have it all sorted out before you call. You do need to be willing to be honest and to do the work between sessions as well as in them.

If a court, probation office or program is involved, its requirements are built into your plan, and whether it accepts the treatment is its own decision. If nobody required you to come, the structure is no different: an assessment, a plan, and regular sessions with progress reviewed over time.

OJA (Office of Juvenile Affairs) approved in Oklahoma for problematic sexual behavior and anger management. Court-approved therapist for problematic sexual offense treatment.

Looking at the Choices Behind the Behavior

Treatment looks at more than the behavior itself. It looks at what surrounds it: the situations, thoughts, feelings and urges that come before a choice, and the patterns that keep it repeating. The point of seeing that sequence clearly is to find the places where a different choice can be made.

Mr. Omar's line, "The choices you make dictate the life you live," applies directly to this work. Treatment does not excuse past choices. The aim is to understand them well enough to make different ones, using impulse control, emotional regulation, healthy boundaries and better decision-making.

What Individual Sessions Cover

Adult individual sessions run 45 to 60 minutes, are often held twice a week, and offer:

  • Confidential, nonjudgmental time to talk openly about what you are dealing with
  • Accountability for your actions, with no excuses made for them
  • Help identifying unhealthy behavior patterns
  • A personalized treatment plan built around goals set at your assessment
  • Practical assignments that keep the work going between appointments
  • Steady, consistent support as new skills get tested in real situations

The Adult Sexual Behavior Treatment Group

Only people 18 and older take part in the adult group; teenagers are seen separately in the youth group. It is structured, professional and nonjudgmental, and each session runs 45 to 60 minutes. Members learn through guided discussions, educational materials and practical exercises, and they work on harmful patterns, offense cycles, urges and relapse prevention alongside others doing the same work. Whether group fits your plan is decided at the assessment.

How Adults Begin Treatment

  1. Reach Out

Call the office at (405) 205-6314 or write through the Contact page. Share only your name, contact information and a general reason, since email and voicemail are not secure.

  2. Free Consultation

Take 20 to 30 minutes to describe your situation in general terms and ask questions. There is no charge and no obligation to continue.

  3. Assessment

Over one to two hours, your history and concerns are reviewed and a plan is recommended: individual sessions, group, or both.

  4. Ongoing Work

You attend regular sessions, and the plan is revisited whenever a progress review shows it should be.

Questions Adults Ask

Is treatment only for people with a court order?

No. It is for adults with problematic sexual behavior who are ready to take accountability, whether or not a court is involved. When one is, acceptance of the treatment is the court's call.

Will I be judged for what I share?

No. Sessions are nonjudgmental, though they are not easy. You will be held accountable for your actions and treated with respect at the same time.

What does treatment cost?

You will find current rates on the Rates and Insurance page rather than here. The practice accepts several insurance plans and is Medicaid approved, and because coverage varies by plan, confirm your benefits with the office.
