For Courts and Court Programs

Structured, accountable treatment for problematic sexual behavior, with each court deciding for itself whether to accept this provider.

Chatman Counseling and Rehabilitation in Oklahoma City provides structured treatment for adolescents and adults with problematic sexual behavior, plus anger management and youth services. Court referred clients start the same way as everyone else: a free consultation, then a 1 to 2 hour assessment that shapes an individualized plan. Each court decides whether it accepts this provider, and information reaches a court only with the client's signed consent.

Court Approval

The Approval, Word for Word

Mr. Omar's court approval is stated in his exact wording: "Court-approved therapist for problematic sexual offense treatment."

That wording refers to sexual offense treatment; it is not a claim about anger management or any other service. It also does not bind any particular court, so please confirm acceptance with the court before treatment begins.

Mr. Omar holds two credentials, LPC and CSOTP, and has 13 years of counseling experience.

How Court Referred Clients Start

  1. Referral by Phone or Email

Court staff, a program coordinator or the client can call (405) 205-6314 or email through the Contact page. First messages should carry only a name, contact information and a general reason.

  2. No-Cost Consultation

The client uses this 20 to 30 minute conversation to explain the situation in general terms and get questions answered, at no charge and with no commitment.

  3. Treatment Assessment

A 1 to 2 hour assessment reviews the client's background and reasons for seeking treatment. It is a treatment assessment, not a separate evaluation prepared for the court.

  4. Individualized Plan

The plan sets individual sessions, group work or both and takes the court's requirements into account, then changes as progress is reviewed.

What the Practice Offers Courts

The practice offers four services, and each has a defined scope.

  • Sexual offense treatment for adolescents and adults: assessment, individual sessions and group work
  • The Adult Sexual Behavior Treatment Group, for adults 18 and older only
  • Youth services for adolescents 13 to 17, including a youth group kept apart from adults
  • Anger management for adolescents and adults whose anger affects relationships, work, school or legal standing
  • Not offered: court evaluations beyond the treatment assessment, crisis services, medication or inpatient care

What Treatment Involves

Individual sessions give clients a structured, confidential and nonjudgmental setting to talk openly about their challenges while being held accountable for their actions. In the adult group, members work on harmful sexual behavior patterns, offense cycles, triggers, managing urges, healthy boundaries, empathy for people harmed, cognitive restructuring and relapse prevention.

Mr. Omar is direct about his role: "I'm not here to make excuses for anyone's behavior. I'm here to help them understand it."

Two individual sessions a week is a common schedule, and both individual and group sessions run 45 to 60 minutes.

Information Sharing With the Court

Counseling stays private by default. The practice shares information with a court only when the client has signed consent, and certain limits on confidentiality set by law are explained to the client in writing when services begin.

If a program needs information about a client's participation, plan for the consent conversation early. Any communication with the court stays within what the client's signed consent allows.

Questions From Court Programs

Does the practice treat adolescents referred by a court?

Yes. Adolescents 13 to 17 are seen in individual sessions, the youth group or both, and acceptance of this provider remains the court's decision.

How long does court referred treatment take?

There is no fixed timeline. Length depends on the client's needs, progress and program requirements, and it is reviewed as treatment continues.

What happens when a client misses a session?

Clients are asked to cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours ahead. Under the practice's policy, a session missed or canceled late may be charged at the scheduled session rate, and insurance is not billed for it.

Are adults and adolescents ever placed in the same group?

Never. The adult group is for ages 18 and older, and the youth group is for adolescents 13 to 17.
